Has Hotmail got a problem

Not one that I'm aware of ...... I have sent several attachments to my daughters hotmail account in the last couple of days and she has received them with no problems.

Someone told me a couple of days back that attachments were not arriving with hotmail.  I haven't tried it but apparently several people were having the same problem.

Just check before you send them that a bird is not sitting on the telephone wire outside.

If it is hanging on to tightly the large files can't get down the wire.

If you are saying that when you send an email from an alternative email address that it arrives without a problem, then it sounds like your recipient has your usual email address blacklisted.

Either that or their respective ISP's have your email listed as a possible source of spam.

I use a hotmail address & quite often emails end up in the spam folder & I have to retrieve them. Any email with an attachment received has to be made "safe" before I can access the attachment

I think (as I learnt after losing some emails) that you can set the spam to be automatically deleted rather than placed in a separate folder, so this causes email to be lost.

Sometimes when I send to others from hotmail, they do not receive it. Some spam filters seem to automatically, or on request refuse email from web email systems

l don't know what to think,( have sent you a pm Celia) normally l get email with attachments no problem sometimes goes to junk mail. That why l said send just a test email and see if l get it then l can add to safe list and hope it rectifies the problem.

I use hotmail as my main e-mail address. There are occasional blips, but I'm usuually very pleased with it. Sometimes relatives send photos which don't get through ~ usually if the file is enormous.

Hi Celia,
I've been trying to send some files to a fellow rootschatter this evening - using hotmail. Took me ages to get them to attach at first. I eventually managed to send them - about an hour and a half later.
I will let you know if I get a reply later, to say that there was a problem.
Kind regards,
Paulene :)

The recipient doesn't have my email address, the attachment has finally arrived now, thanks for all the suggestions.
Just one question ;) why do people find it necessary to have 2 email addresses, why don't they use the email given to them by their provider? when they send/receive photo attachments It would make life a lot easier ;D ;D

Celia

As an alternative for when one of them is playing silly bu**ers  ;D

Orange now seems to be having a problem with ihug.co.au which a friend of mine in Sydney uses.Thank God I also have a Yahoo account from which to send her emails .
