Hi,
I am researching the Beard family and discovered they originally came from Ireland.
I am looking for the parents of William Beard b1859, Templemore Barrack, Ireland. He is living in Birmingham by 1881, I don't have a date for when he moved there. He married Mary ?, but i think that was after he moved.
Would be very grateful for any info.
Thanks

Hi,
William Beard married Mary Langford at The Old Church in Smethwick on 7th June 1880. Williams parents were William Henry Beard and Eliza (nee Caves). They married whilst he was stationed in Northern Ireland. You can get a copy of the marriage cert from Southport.
William and Mary Beard were my GGG Grandparents. Hope this helps - this is my first post.

Hi vjb,
Welcome to rootschat, it is a great site, I have had lots of help from many people. :)
The reason I am looking for William & Mary is from another thread I wrote on the Worcestershire site (11th April 2008).
I was looking to see where William & Mary fitted into my tree, as they were given to be as prospects as ancestors to brothers William b 1906 and Ivor b1915 born Kings Norton.
But as yet I don't know where they belong. :'(
I have many Beards on my tree dating back to 1664, so I would be very pleased if I can find a match.
Thanks
Dawn :)

Hi Dawn. I was just reading your Beard post and wondered if a Bill Beard was in your line? When I was a student in Wolverhampton in the mid 1980s I lived next door to Mr Beard in Burleigh Road. Penn Fields. Wolverhampton. He was such a nice bloke and had a little dog by the name of Beauty.

Hi Spencer,
I have a William Beard b1906, but I don't know when he died, it could of been him as your neighbour if he was still living in the 1980's - he would have been in his 70's at that time. My William Beard had an MBE.
Thank you for your interest :)

Hi Dawn.
It is possible that my neighbour could have been born about 1906, he certainly would have been in his 70s. I recall that he was religious and was planning a visit to the 'Holy Lands', has he referred to Isreal, in the year I left Wolverhampton. I liked him alot and took a picture of him before I left. I think his address would have been 5, Burleigh Road if you wish to chase up any possible connections with your tree in future.
Good Luck.
