The second Camera Club in Dublin was started by William Harding in 1922. He was the editor of "The Camera" which was published in Dublin. The Club was an offshoot of a much older group ... the Photographic Society of Ireland (PSI). The Club's first President was a well known portrait photographer named Alfred Werner and one of the members was another enthusiast ... Father Browne. http://d1025381.cp.blacknight.com/dcc/joomla/images/stories/history.pdf (http://d1025381.cp.blacknight.com/dcc/joomla/images/stories/history.pdf)
The late Peter Slattery, a native of Co. Cork, opened Ireland's first photographic supply shop in Dublin's O'Connell Street in 1946. Peter had returned from England to open a number of pharmacy shops in Dublin. www.iol.ie/~slaterys/history.html

Hi Christopher, i'm interested in the Photographic Society of Ireland and the Dublin Camera Club from the 1940s. Particularly the role of Harry Braine. Would you have any knowledge of this man? He seems to have been very prolific.
Thanks in advance
Chris
