Title: Hedges family
Post by: nellkip on Sunday 04 April 04 18:28 BST (UK)
 ???Hi,
My brother and I are trying to research into our Mothers family history and keep coming up with a brick wall everytime.  We need to find either James or Jacob Hedges 1871 census, who where married Jane Margaret Summer, May 1844 Stepney, London.  Is there anyone that can point us in the right direction.

I am a beginner, but my brother has been doing this for 5 years.
Regards
Nell

Hi Nell

Do you have a birth date for Jacob/James and where he was born?

I have found one but the surname is spelt Edges.

This Jacob is an inmate in the St Georges Workhouse aged 52. Born abt 1819 in St George in the East.

Class RG 10    /  Piece 453  /  Folio 8  /  page 12

Any good? Hard without a birth date to work from. Hope it helps

Janine

What reason do you have to believe that Jane Margaret SUMMER married, May 1844, Stepney, London?

...that name....that date....that place?

Do you see any of these people in earlier / later census?
