Title: India and the Army

I am trying to help a friend trace their roots, and they have a Grandfather born Circa 1905 whom they believe was born in India whilst there father was on Military Service.

Any ideas where to start looking for this one.

They have a Marriage Cert (which was in the UK), but no other information.

There are overseas registers for military births which are on sites like findmypast and familyrelatives. These certificates can be ordered from the GRO like ordinary birth certificates:

His name is Ernest James Taylor (Could be Rose) born about 1905/8

The Father may be Frederick Charles Rose. Who was a Captain.

Frederick may also of had a son called Arthur, Lawrence and Freddy and a daughter called Mavis.
