Title: Ships Passenger lists Quebec/Montreal 1910/1911
Post by: cupcake on Sunday 30 March 08 18:30 BST (UK)

Where can I find passenger lists for Quebec/Montreal 1910/1911. I can't be more specifiic with the dates or places.

I am trying to find a George C. MOFFAT & family. They are on the 1911 Vancouver census. There youngest son was 2 years old and, was born in Scotland.

Any help would be very much appeciated. :)

Cupcake.

the Nanaimo Family History Society is currently transcribing passenger lists from from 1907 to 1910 but there are a lot of Scottish Moffats on there. Indexed searches.

If you search here for 'Moffat', ship name Hesperian, in 1910, you'll find at least some of them.  The three kids, Rose, Janet, and Robert, show up.

Passenger lists (images) coming into Canada:
http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/archivianet/passenger/001045-100.01-e.php
 - they can be found here on the Hesperian which arrived 1910-11-06, page 5 of the manifest:
Jennie McK Moffat, 33
Rosie, 4
Janet, 2
Robert, 10/12

Jennie is listed as occupation 'wife', husband plumber, heading to Vancouver.

Hi Jorose,

Thank you so much for the passenger list. I have been trying for so long to find these. :D

I am just going to look them up.I'm sure it is them. George Moffat was a Master plumber.

Regards,

Hi Treetotal,

Looked at the link you kindly sent, but was unable to find them.

However, another rootschat member has found them . It's great when things come together, after searching for so long.

Thank you.

Hi again,

Went to the link you gave me. It is them. Thank you.

I had assumed that George Moffat & his brother William, had gone with them. They were both Master plumbers. Obviously, they have gone to find work and some where to live.

Now I would like to find them, if possible. Do you think they would have gone out the same year.

Thank you once agian.
