Post by: Greenman22 on Monday 24 March 08 19:33 GMT (UK)
Does anyone know where I can find information on the Whitfield family - North -Cheshire & south - Lancs? I am trying to find details of the Whitfield family in the following locations;

Warrington
Stockton Heath
Appleton
Hale
Runcorn

Can anyone help? I'd also like to hear from others with the same family connections if possible.

What kind of information are you looking for?  Do you have census details for the families which interest you?  There seem to be a number of Whitfield families in the area.....

Some of Cheshire Parish records are transcribed and on line.  (I just type 'Cheshire Parish Records' into Google and find them that way)

Hi,
 What I am trying to find out is how my arm of the Whitfield family fits in with other Whitfield's in the Warrington area. I have traced my family on the census records. which has come up with some names but not many. I will google Cheshire Parish Records and see what I can turn up.

Thanks

Andy,

Hi Andy,
I just came across this old query you posted. Are you still searching? My family are Whitfields from Hale area (Thomas Whitfield) who later lived at Nutgrove, Sutton, Prescot.  Of his descendants some stayed in the area, on daughter married and moved to Liverpool, a son emigrated to America, my line moved to Manchester and then Australia. Let me know if you would like any more details.

Sav :)
