Does anyone know when Crowtree Hospital Louth closed. I am trying to trace hospital records for the 1930's when my mother Gwen SNOWDON (Snowy) trained there. Any records there may be will be housed at different health authorities depending on when the hospital closed. Also I would be pleased to know of any articles, personal memories or books written about the hospital. I can remember it in the 1950's and 60's

Dear Geoff
Thank you so much for that brilliant link about Crowtree Lane Hospital. i had not realised it was open until the 1980's. I shall follow it up and perhaps get more info

Hi there. Sorry to be replying to such an old thread!
I was born at Crowtree Lane Hospital ijn 1966. My brothers were also bord there in 1964 and 1969. We left Louth in 1973 and the hospital was either closed by then or very shortly afterwards. I don't think it was still oppen by the 1980s, certainly not as a hospital.
I'm interested in the site for personal reasons relating to my younger brother that I'd rather not share here, so I'm also keen to hear if there are any hospital records, particularly from 1969.
