Does anyone know any thing about the Fanning ( Fannin) family from Gardenham Annaghdown Co Galway, especially Mary Fanning I do know she married 1881.Thank you.
-
Hi, I have been looking to see if I can find Mary's birth ,there is a Mary Fanning-Annaghdown born 1853-but I personally feel this would make her old for when she got married I know 28yrs is not old( right or wrong?).I do know Mary had five children her last been born in 1894.I also found in Griffiths Valuation that there was a Peter Fanning from Gardenham & I also wonder if Mary maybe related to him.At the moment I do not know when Mary died so I can not work out her birth year from that either.Help any pointers or ideas for any more clues.

Yes I have seen that offer & I know it can be a bit of a hit or a miss, even at five euro ago it can soon add up but thank you Migky for letting me know.I have now got as far as finding out that Mary's father was Peter Fannin & her mother was Bridget Glennon & her Godmother was Honor Fannin maybe she was her Aunt I do not know,so if anyone knows any thing of this family do let me know.Or of any fannin/fanning that lived anywhere in Co Galway. Thank you.

Have you seen this birth on IGI? Sounds like Mary's sister:
Honor born 22 Apr.1867 Co.Galway, daughter of Peter Fannin & Bridget Glynnane.

HI ,on my hunt for the Fannin /Fanning family from Co Galway I have found some more of Peter & Bridget's children Michael b.1860-John b-1863 Horona b.1867 all in Gardenham in the parish of Annaghdown. Also I feel sure Mary Fannin is Peter's sister she marries Thomas Glennon from Waterdale who I also believe to be Bridget's brother as she is also a Glennon from Waterdale .Hope this may help some one else on the Fanning trail,Regards Nipy
