I am researhing Francis Brown who was born 1824 in Weldrake. In 1850? he would come to Canada and settled in our little village. Not much was known of him.
I believe he had brother and sisters in Weldrake. Francis was in the Crimean war ( so the story goes) he was also a lieutant in the Army ..
His sister Margaretta married Thomas Fairweather and they came to Canada too. Maybe a brother John also came and settled near or at Elora.
Francis was a member of the Church of England
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank-you
