Title: Foulkes of Tremeirchion/Graig
Post by: Rebble on Saturday 15 March 08 19:52 GMT (UK)
I have a Peter Foulkes (b: abt 1818 Rhuddlan) married to a Mary (b: abt 1814 Bodfari).

I know there are other Foulkes out there  but specifically interested in this specific family.

I have their census records for 1841, 1851 and then nothing up to 1891.

Any one out there able to help?

Do you have him in 1901?

Possibly living on his own in Flint aged 89....

I'm not being very helpful really, but another possible is that he died before 1881 and then there is a Mary Folks from Wales (helpful) Windower in Liverpool

I'm not very good at this... perhaps someone else might give better help? Looks like a tricky one.....

Hi thanks for the feed back.

I should have been  clearer I found them on the 1891 census living in Holywell North Wales but I couldn't locate anything between 1861 and 1891.

Perhaps they avoided the census? :D

Perhaps he did..... It's one of those surnames where you need to try all varieties though...... I tried Foulkes, Fowlkes, Fowkes, Folks.....

Will try and be more helpful......

Did they have any children? - might help us find them..... What was his job?

No not that I can figure, on all the census records she's shown as Anne and on her son's birth certiticate she's Anne also.
 ???

Peter was an Agricultural Labourer he had the following kids:
Catherine (b 1839)
Anne (b:1841)
Elizabeth (b:1845)
Jane (b: 1847)

That makes sense now - you wrote Mary above - and I couldn't find any Mary's but I could find Anne's.....

I think Claire got him in 1901 a widower living in Flint aged 89.  (actually really 92 - great old age)

Of course I should read my own post properly it was Peter Foulkes married to Mary
Anne is their daughter
