Post by: Famille Ricard on Tuesday 11 March 08 12:30 GMT (UK)
Hello members,

I have just found this old photo. Could anyone restore this for me in its original black & white (not in color !)
Thank you,
Claire

My great great Auntie Gladys Burchell on the left with a freind.

Claire,

Although your pictures are scanned at 300ppi , they still seem pixelated . Did you shrink them down to fast ?

You can have up to 500k files !

I know it's a pain , but it might give you better results.

No I haven't shrink them. They are in poor condition. That's fine for me. I don't expect wonders !!!

:-\  If you scaned at 300dpi with best quality / no compression your file would be over 400kb and not showing the pixelation we see in our software - evem if it was the worst photo going!

Just a thought, did you scan an original photo or one sent to you by email?

what scanner do you have?

If you scan in professional mode, then select
Click on optionsbutton next to the jpeg image format selection
.... slide the quality control all the way to the left for the highest setting
