Thanks MickMac,and the elusive person I am looking for is a Joseph Duignan who married one of my Griffiths relatives,in what is described on North Wales BMD,as a "Wrexham Civil Marriage" in 1911.

Joseph Duignan Married Susannah Griffiths in 1911. I can't find a Joseph Duignan on the 1901 or 1891 census in Wales but that doesn't surprise me as a name like Duignan is likely to have been mispelled.

There seems to be a few Duignan's around Wales in that time however.

Thanks MickMac,and I also couldn't find a Joseph Duignan in the North Wales area. There are one or two possibles that are mispelt in Cheshire and Lancashire.

It may be worthwhile getting hold of the wedding certificate.  There is a Joseph Dignan (sp) in Waterloo, Lancashire, who seems to fit the bill.

I happened across this exchange whilst browsing.  Joseph and Susannah Duignan were my grandparents.  I can confirm the North Wales connection, but I can't tell you anything about what kind of wedding ceremony they had.

First of all a very warm welcome to Rootschat and whilst as I have stated I know nothing of the Duignan ancestry,I have extensive details in my Tree of the ancestors of Susannah Griffiths.I will contact you with a PM to give you further details of how you can access my info.
