Title: Alice Winifred Neville, Keady
Post by: megalina on Saturday 08 March 08 02:59 GMT (UK)
Hello, I am researching the Neville family from Armagh.  I Have information about Alice Winifred Neville (1918-2004) and limited information about her parents Thomas James Neville (d. 1968) and Sarah ("Sadie") McWhirter (d. 1931).  Does anyone have more information about these families?  Much appreciated!  Thanks, Meg

Hi there Meg

Record of Civill Marriage
25th Dec 1917
Groom -  Thomas James Neville
Bride   -   Sarah McWhirter
at Redrock Presbyterian Church in the Parish of Kilcluney Civil District Armagh
County Armagh

If you order a copy of their marriage from the GRO (www.gro.gov.uk) you can find out at least fathers details for them both, and proceed from there. You could also go to PRONI in Belfast or LDS Holywood Road Belfast and view the details on microfilm.

1911 and 1901 census for Ireland is (very) gradually being put online (starting with 1911 Dublin in Dec.2007). It is very easy to search. National Archives, Dublin website gives order which counties are being added (under future plans).
PRONI has 1912 Ulster Covenant on their site (names, addresses and scanned signatures) and recently added Will extracts which might be of use.

Hi all
have now obtained a marriage certificate for Alice's parents Thomas James Neville and Sarah McWhirter.  Their parents are listed as William Neville and William Robert McWhirter if anyone has further info I would greatly appreciate it.
Kind regards, Meg
