Would like some help thanks.

There is an online index to Marden marriages
http://www.mardenhistory.org.uk/p1_marriages.htm
BUT I can't see a marriage for Richard PECK. ???
There is one for a Charles PECK in 1830.

There is a marriage of a Lydia GREY to a Richard PECK at Salehurst in Sussex 1804 which would be about the right time for Charles to have been their second child http://www.familysearch.org :)
There are baptisms for Marden on the IGI (link as above - batch numer C043667) but I couldn't see that of Charles - only a Daniel in 1811.
Who was the first child and where were they born?
Casalguidi :)

Thankyou for your reply, The first child i think was Daniel, Charles, then Henry. Daniel was born in Marden to. not sure where Henry was born. That could possibly be Richards marriage to Lydia, thats not to far from Marden.
I have found Richard and Lydia on the 1841 census but that doesn't give where they where born,
thank you again.
cheers

Pre 1837 you can only get the entry from the parish register.
The only other information you are likely to find if they are not under age, is the name of the witnesses.
In this case, (from the transcripts on Ancestry East Sussex Church of England, Baptisms, Marriages and Burials 1538-1812) one witness John Heathfield is a witness on many so likely a church employee, or neighbour. The other witness might be of more use and is Thomas MARCHANT

The other useful information (from banns) is that they were both 'of the parish' and widowed. Grey would not have been Lydia's maiden name.

Good Afternoon,
Mckha489 & bearKat,
Thank you both for the information.
I was thinking perhaps Lydia may have been married before and Richard was her second marriage. Thankyou bearkat for that
More searching.
I do wish we could still get the reels of BDM parish records transcripts from the Family History Centre.
Full of good detail.
I will try both of you suggestions.
Cheers

Good Afternoon mckha489 & and bearkat
Thank you for that. Now have Richard & Lydia's marriage certificate.
Interesting looking at witnesses. As you have mentioned one of the witnesses is a witness to many a marriage.
I think I have found Lydia's maiden name and first husband, but more checking.
Cheers

Is there any chance of sending me a link to the Mardent, Kent, BMD's film pre 1813- 1875 St Michael & All Angels. 1707 to 1812 Please. It could solve a mystery.

Good Afternoon All.
Need a bit of clarification Please.
Richard Peck/Pack b 1753 Marden Kent. Married Ann Mackender 8/11/1790 Marden Kent.
She was Born 7 February 1868 died 15 July 1801, Marden, Kent.
Children:
Mary b 1791,
Thomas 1792 ( not sure if he is theirs)
John b 1794
Elizabeth b 1795/6,
Ann 1800.
In the mean time:
Then there is a Lydia Golden marries 3/12/1795 a William Gray/Grey.
The William Gray that popped up was William Gray bap 27/July/1765 of Hawkhurst, East, Sussex, of the Hawkhurst gang. Their history is fascinating.
There is another Willian Gray bap 14/8/1763 St Lawrence, Kent.
Now
Richard Peck, widower and Lydia Grey/Gray widow married 2 July 1804 Salehurst, Sussex.
Children:
Charles 1805 Goudhurst, Kent
Daniel 1809 Marden
Sarah 1814 Marden
Henry 1824 Marden.
So in the house hold now are Richard & Ann's and Richard and Lydia's children.
Richard died in 1844 Marden, & Lydia 1843 Marden Kent.
BUT:
There is a entry on Ancestry/uk of a
Richard Peck born 1780-1783 his father is Richard age 30yrs mother age 17. (From the way it reads, this young Richard was born out of wedlock.
Young Richard marries 1808, residence, Salehurst a Lydia Grey born 1787 died 1843 Marden Kent.
Young Richard died 1812 Marden Kent. They had 1 child during their marriage?
So a tangled web.
Cheers
