Hi
I am new to your forum and wondering if any one could help me find
where my grandadfather was born thats all I know is that William Fredrick Fox
was born in 1892 father James mother ???? I have found him on the 1911
Dublin census but cant find him on the 1901 Dublin census. I would be grateful
for any help on this . Thanks

I know it's been a while since you posted your query but this looks like a good match for the birth of William from the Civil index :
Name: William Frederick Fox
Registration district: Dublin North
Record type: Birth
quarter and year: Apr - Jun 1892
Volume: 2 / Page: 485

from Thom's directory of 1894, North circular road is listed as several section with reused street numbers. The section from Avondale road to Berkeley road has the following listed at number 39 :
Fox Brothers, grocery, &c.
Mr. James Fox
they are listed in a block of shops and businesses marked Thomond Terrace, and between Blaquiere bridge and Berkeley road, and near to the jct with Phibsborough road.
In the 1904 edition the address is listed as William John Gleeson, family grocer.

Manordeg,
No.37 N.C.R. (otherwise No.1 Thomond Terrace) and Nos.40-43 N.C.R. (o'wise Nos.4-7 Thomond Terrace)
These properties were held under leasehold for 500 years from 29-9-1867 and were sold for 400 pounds sterling(see Irish Times 11th June 1892 Page 3)

Thom's only listed the owner of the house or business...
or do you mean other people living beside no 39 ?
