Hello lenellie,

The only Kilp ..... which thecore.com/seanruad IreAtlas lists for Co. Donegal is ...

Kilpheak which is a 493 acre townland in the Barony of Kilmacrenan,
Civil Parish: Conwal and the PLU of Letterkenny.

There is a 1,133 townland named Boultypatrick in the Barony of Raphoe.
Civil Parish: Kilteevoge and the PLU of Stranorlar

I wonder if they rented their land from a guy named Kilpatrick.

What denomination were John and Margaret ? Were they  members of the Catholic faith, the Established Church (Anglicans or Church of Ireland), Methodists or Presbyterians?

You may have to rely on Church records as civil registration in Ireland was not introduced until 1864. Non Catholic marriages were registered from 1845 onwards. When registration for BDMS started in 1864 some people didn't bother with the registration for a few years after that date. Keep your fingers crossed that church records still exist.

'Am searching for the parents of John McClintock and Margaret Elizabeth Latta' - Hi Lenellie, in my research of this family line the only mention of parents is Alex McClintock. I have found several mentions of Alex[ander] around the Taughboyne parish area but not that i can definately link to John and Eliza. No spouse mentioned.
Many thanks [again] Kiltiglassan for great detective work.

Cheers Jack
