Could any one help with a death look up for Henry John Smith. He may have drowned in the Thames, he was supposedly a Mariner and lived in Greenwich. He was alive in 1881 and may have died before 1901.
Many thanks.

Do you know roughly when he was born? There are several who could fit the bill on the death register between 1881 and 1901.

Hi kenith,
Have you found Henry on 1891 census?
There are 2 possible deaths registered in Greenwich; one in Mar 1887 (aged 34) and the other in Jun 1893 (aged 39). These are just Henry Smith though.
Found on the FreeBMD site.

Thanks Nanny Jan for looking up on the f.m.d. . Henry appeared on the 1881 census living at 2 Prior St Greenwich, but Ihave not found him on the 1891 census, I realise there was alot of moving about in those days, the only possible clues I have is that he may have drowned in the Thames and he may have been a Freemason. I know there are year books held by the Masons dating back to the1700s, I have yet to investigate this possibility.
Regards
Kenith.

Have you checked freebmd? http:/freebmd.rootsweb.com
If it's not been transcribed - you would need to check the full GRO death index at your nearest main library
What was Louisa's marital status on the 1891 census?
Does Greenwich come under London - not Kent?
