The IGI has a birth record of a Harriet Evits about 1809 in Warwick England.
No other information given.
Also the marriage of Harriet Evits to George Pemberton 30 April 1821 Holy Trinity, Coventry Warwick, England.
-
Hello Liz
you're looking for Harriet born c.1790-1800 but there is noone that fits this criteria that I can find.
My advise is to contact the War.CRO:
http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/countyrecordoffice
& give the marriage details supplied by Patrish & ask them to look for you.You particularly want to know if she is "of this Parish" or married by Banns or Licence.
If by licence there may be additional info. such as parent/guardian name. The licences are held elsewhere but we can look at that later.
Regards
Jim

Hi again Jim.
The office I wrote to answered me and said I needed to download a reader printer order form from there site, If I needed to view the record.. I have no idea what that consists of being my first time there. Could you shed some light on this for me and whether or not this has to be paid for as well/
tnx Liz

30 April 1821 Holy Trinity (B)
George Pemberton b opt
Harriet Evitts sp opt
Witnesses John Rigby & Mary Evitts
Looks like the marriage was by Banns
If the above is correct would you like the burial details of Harriett & George Pemberton which would make Harriet born 1802
Regards sharon
-
would LOVE any information you have thank you. Would I be correct in assuming that Mary Evitts and is harriets mother? Who would John Rigby be?
-
No you can never assume anything, you need to prove it, she could be any family member.
The marriage record will not tell you any relationsips that early. You need his baptism.

Who did you contact. It doesn't sound like the War.CRO.They've never asked me to download anything & they will look up an entry for you free of charge.

HI Jim
I followed the link you gave me and asked them exactly what you told me...with the dates i had. They did look up an entry for me free of charge and replied to me that this couple indeed belonged to this parish and that if I wanted a copy to go ahead with the procedure below using a reader. this was my reply today:
www.warwickshire.gov.uk/countyrecordoffice
National on-line archive catalogues: www.a2a.org.uk
Warwickshire's on-line archive catalogue: www.warwickshire.gov.uk/archivesunlocked

Parish register Copies
Thank you for your email of 26/02/2008 regarding the procedure for obtaining copies of a parish register entry. As my colleague advised, you need to download a reader printer order form. You can do this from our website following the services link on the left hand menu then, ordering copies of records by post, then Reader printer order form. You will then need to fill in the relevant details. In the reference or title field you need to enter the details of the entry you want copied, including names, dates and the parish church. The cost is £2.50 for the first copy and £1.00 for any further copies you require, details of this can be found on the form. You will then need to read the declaration part of the form, fill in your details, sign and date the form and return it to us with your payment. Once we have received this we will then proceed with your order and you will receive your copies by post.
I hope this makes things a little clearer
Yours sincerely

A reader printer refers to the fiche reader they have there that copies the page you are viewing. This is if you want a copy of the entry. They are telling you to download the form for you to do this. You can then email it back to them.

Thought you may like to see the family in the 1841 census:
Address: Junction Street, Coventry, Warwickshire.

Harriet Pemberton, 40. dressmaker, ditto
Emma, 17
John, 15
George, 11,

If you want the 1851 also, just ask...

I think I would like to look at the original entry for this Harriet's christening & see if an age was given.
05 NOV 1808 Saint Mary, Warwick

If it's of any interest I think George is the son of John Pemberton & Elizabeth Camwell.
Jim
-
thank you...Indeed it is af Interest Jim!! I was talking by phone to a woman at thr War. R.O and she told me my best bet would be to look at the parish records through Micro-fiche at any LDS chapel, so I might take a trip to our local one.
How did you find out georges Parents? although Im sure you have a lot of resources. If it's of any interest I think George is the son of John Pemberton & Elizabeth Camwell.
Jim
-
In 1851 George is listed as 53 from Keresley (pro:cursly)
Keresley which is on the outskirts of Coventry didn't become a Parish until 1840's so he would have been christened elsewhere. The obvious choice would be Coventry but he isn't there, but a mile up the road is the village of Corley. There is a George Pemberton christened there; 1797/fa.John/ma.Elizabeth + 2 siblings the eldest born 1791.There is a marriage between John Pemberton & Elizabeth Camwell St.Michael's Coventry Jan.8 1787.
These should be taken as a guide & verified via. the PR's.
Jim
-
correction:the eldest was born 1788 ::)
-
thank you so much Jim! you have been of immense help as has others on here. At least i have something to go by. Appreciate this very much. LIZ
