Hello
could some one please look up the 1871 census for a Jane Jones born in Abersychan abt.1854/55? Her father was a William Jones. At the time of her marriage in 1880 William was a contractor. Jane is my g.gran.
Thanks, Avril

In 1871 living in Aberscyhan is a Jane Jones aged 19. Brothers and sisters also at the same address are Anne 28, John 15. and William 23. Also at the same adress is a John Jones age 60 who is a Widower. Could he be the brother of William Janes Father?

hello, Thankyou for finding Jane for me. I know this might sound a bit rude but could you please tell how you found it because I would now like to print off the information for my records. I was looking for Janes mother as well but it doesn't appear to be there. She may well have died.
I searched for ages last night and couldn't find it.
Thankyou again for your help it is much appreciated.

hello again.Now you probably think I am daft. I wonder if it is the same Jane Jones. because she was born in abt.1855 so therefore making her 16. I know that we give or take a couple of years. On her marriage cert.in 1880 she was 26. It names her father as Thomas Jones a labourer. So I wonder where dear old Thomas had gone on census night.
Cheers Avril ;)

....errr, which combination are you looking for? Jane with father Thomas a labourer, or father William a contractor? There are more than a few Jane Jones entries to check...
::)

ok folks here goes, I am sorry about confusion, ---Jane Jones married Thomas Jones, Dec 27th 1880.
Janes fathers name was William Jones, he was a contractor.
Thomas Jones father was named Thomas Jones this adds to the confusion folks.) he was a labourer
Jane Jones was born in Abersychan, her husband Thomas Jones was born in Tredomen.( he also was a labourer at the time of marriage.)
I really apologise for the confusion....tooooo many Jones's in one family!!
Cheers, Avril ???
