Hoping someone can help me out with my query.
I need to order a U.K birth certificate and have the page & volume number. The last digit for page number is hard to read and it has been transcribed with a ( - ).
District Vol Page
Tetbury 6a 29_
When I order this certificate do I enter the exact. i.e 29_ for page number, and will they know which certifcate I am after.
Cheers

Hi Rupert,
I don't think that entering 29- for the page number will work. :'(
Have you looked at the actual image of the GRO register?
If you give us a name and date , someone may be able to look at the image and figure out what the 3rd digit is

Even if you cannot be certain of the page number, you can order a certificate by mail rather than on-line.
Download the application form and supply at much info as you have.
Let the GRO track it down for you.

Hi Rupert
I'm guessing that you looked up FreeBMD?, if you put up details of the person in question then we can look it up from another source that may have a clearer image.

Hi Andy
Thankyou for taking the time out to look at the image.
The birth certificate is for:-
Mann Emily Annie June Qtr Tetbury 6a 29_
It could be 293?

Hi Rupert
I presume it was 1859. I would say 298. Looking at the image on Ancestry it doesn't look like the other number 3's on the page.

Hi Andy
Thanks for checking out Ancestry.
I rechecked Free BDM and it says the page range is between 295-301. So 293 is out.
