Title: oglesby family in ireland

im also looking for info on william oglesby married to annie lewis mid 1800's in georgia or tennessee. no record of parents   they might have not been born in the usa, as far i know they came from ireland or their parents did.   sons name  walter burton, born 1872 in tennessee     thank you   :'(

1880 U.S. census is at LDS site (www.familysearch.org).
Other U.S Census records should give an idea of age and where they were born. You can use Ancestry to search for them in census but can't view the details unless you have a subscription.

I found these. . . No indication of anyone being Irish-born. . .

1 June 1870 U.S. Census in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee.

• Wm. W. Oglesby, 33, farmer, value of personal estate $400
• Ann Eliza, 22, keeping house
• Marion, 23, laborer
• Wm. H., age 1

All were born in Tennessee.

1 June 1880 U.S. Census in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee.

• Bill Oglesby, 35, farming
• Annie, 30, wife
• Lillie, 12, child
• Burton, 10, child
• Cora, 8, child
• Fannie, 8, child
• Bill, 6, child

All were born in Tennessee.  Cora & Fannie are noted to be twins.

1 June 1900 U.S. Census in [Memphis?], Shelby County, Tennessee.

• W.W. Oglesby, head, born May 1837, age 63, married 32 yrs., farmer, rents, lives on farm
• Annie, wife, born Aug. 1847, age 52, had 10 children (7 alive), parents born in Alabama
• Luther, son, born Dec. 1882, age 17, farm laborer
• W.B., head, born June 1874, age 25, married 4 yrs., farmer, rents, lives on farm
• Emma, wife, born Sep? 1880, age 19, had 3 children (2 alive), parents born in Mississippi

Bottom of page listing W.B. & Emma's 2 children has been cut off.  All were born in Tennessee.  All had parents born in Tennessee, unless otherwise noted.  Also, living in a Tucker household before W.W. is a Henry Armstrong born Aug. 1877.

15 Apr. 1910 U.S. Census in [Memphis?], Shelby County, Tennessee, on Bluff Road.

• William Oglesby, head, 74, 2nd marriage, married 42 yrs., farmer on own account, rents home
• Annie, wife, age 64, 1st marriage
• Luther, 29, head, age 21, 1st marriage, married 7 yrs., farmer (employee), rents home
• Minnie, wife, 32, 2nd marriage, had 6 children (4 still alive)
• Eunis, daughter, age 6
• LU?, son, age 3
• UG?, son, age 1 & 1/2
• Rena Sexton, step-daughter, age 11, farm work (for head), for wage
• Joe Manasco, laborer, age 15, farm laborer
• Burton Oglesby, head, age 35, 1st marriage, married 14 yrs., farmer, owns home
• Emma, wife, age 31, 1st marriage, had 9 children (7 alive), farm work (for head), for wage
• Lottie, daughter, 13, farm work (for head), for wage
• Denson, son, age 11, farm work (for head), for wage
• Billiebustor (or Billieburton?), son, age 9

All were born in Tennessee.  All had Tennessee born parents.  All lived on a farm.  Households are all in a row on same page.

 - their marriage is registered here in 1868 (plus some marriages of the children). No parental information, though.
