Hi Heywood
I noticed that part of the post in 1851, you have a William Cartmail age 4 months. Do you think that he was a child of the Podmores or was he a nephew or a child from a different marriage?
Thanks
-
.....and the baptism:
06 AUG 1848 Sarah Podmore at Salt, parents John and Elizabeth
as found on familysearch.org

Hello - he is a son - named William Cartmail - a definite 't' but Family Search has his baptism as 'Carpmail'.

Hi - may I ask, are you personally interested in William Cartmail/Carpmail or was this just look up assistance? Because I believe I have this individual in my family tree that has been researched back to 1600-ish if you are interested.

Hi,
I have an interest in Wm Cartmail the son of John and Elizabeth Podmore. As Sarah Podmore his older sister, was my husband's G. Grandmother.
I will be interest to find our more about the Podmore family.
Kind regards,
Christine

Hi, then we have a match. My tree is on Genes Reunited - do youl have access to that site? If you do I can share the tree with you. It goes back to 1555 and was researched by my father's cousin. Kind regards, Marion

Hi Marion,
Yes, I have access to the site. This is amazing!

Hi got your message , Interesting John Podmore is my Great Great grandfather and William Cartmail is my Great Grandfather, the Cartmail comes fom Elizabeth Carpmail (yes the p relaced by T) I have the family history back to the 1200,s. most from the village of sandon about a couple of miles from Salt. I did live in Leek but I live down south now. Eight sets of Great Grandparents are buried in Sandon Churchyard. I do have sarah on ther family tree but never have researched it.
-
Hi
Whom did your William Cartmail marry?
Branching out.
-
Hi there,
I have not traced the line through William, only Sarah. I have not had much time recently to do anymore research. Maybe in the forthcoming winter months ...

Chris
