Can someone please help.
Are records available online for someone who was in the 37th Regiment in 1827 at the time of his marriage in Limerick.
Alternatively, are these records available anywhere in Ireland?
Cheers

LH,
You could surely find some general information by googling, but to get your man's official records you would have to go to the National Archives in London.

Hi
Thanks for your reply. As I am in Ireland, its not possible to visit the National Archives in the UK. Do you know whether these records are available anywhere in Ireland???

Hi all,
Can anyone do a look-up for me in the National Archives in Kew - please?
I've just had confirmation that details of the 37th Regiment are not available anywhere in Ireland. If there is some kindly person out there who could do a look-up for me, I will reciprocate with a look-up in Dublin. Here's hoping ......

The National Archives has a website with a great search engine. You can search under on line with good results, if you find anything you can also order copies on line ! Good Luck

Its almost 4 years ago since I posted the original question, so I'll have to back-track quite a lot to see who I was searching for.

Hi there LH,
I know I'm late in on this thread, have you got a christian and surname for your man in the 37th Regiment(Hampshire Regiment), and I will have a look.
Cheers Roger.

Hi
Thanks for your kind offer and never too late!
The man I am interested in is a William Warren of 37th Regiment who married Honor Egan on 5 Nov 1827. I'd appreciate any scrap of information you might have on William, ie his nationality, county of birth, parents, children, anything...
Cheers

Hi there, no problem at all.
I have looked on Army Pensions and there are some records there, and there is one there for a William Warren for the 37th Regiment of Foot(now the Hampshire Regiment).
In total there are 8 pages I have saved them to my computer.
Do you know anything about him at all.
Cheers Roger.
