I know its not exactly genealogy but im hoping someone will be able to help me.
Im researching the history of the old hursley union workhouse in chandlers ford which became leigh house hospital.Eventualy being replaced bya housing estate more recently.
Anything would help such me...especailly old photos.

I found your request very interesting.
I am able to supply you with primary source information about the buildings and grounds inside and out if that would be of any help.This would be for the building as it stood in the 1960s.I can draw diagrams not to scale if that would help.I am not good with computers though and can only send it through the post.
I am curious as to why you are researching this workhouse, is it for a doctorate or for publication?
I attempted research on this building once but had to give up because the records had apparently been destroyed in a fire.
There are several photographs on the internet and a very interesting photograph of it in the 1930s in a book on local history in Chandlers Ford I cannot remember the details sadly.
In would imagine that a way in to finding records would be to discover the names of the builders in 1899.
Please let me know if I can be of any Help.
