Thanks DebPat

The Druce and Hayward info is my lot. Were the Coopers living in Headington? If so then they could be mine. They had a son called Charles, but I know that he was living in Headington Quarry as a lodger with Rachel Jacob in 1851.

Milton under Wychwood is just north of Burford. It's near Shipton under Wychwood. I don't know if it would come under Witney, as that is the nearest big place!!!!

Thanks again

Nellie

Hi Jan47, Sorry to disappoint you but i can't search in Wantage! I only miss i could! sigh.

Wantage as a area did not really exist in Oxfordshire in 1851 census! The area that it now covers encompases a large area of the census and short of poreing over 500+ pages i am stuck! What is wantage was taken half from Berkshire to so chances are the peeps you are looking for could be on the 1851 Berkshire census?! which i don't have! As you will see from the list at the beginning of this topic i will look in any of the areas meantioned,
As i say i have no index as yet as searching can take a while! Grin!

Sorry again, Check back when/if you get more info! D x
Merry christmas!

Hi - can you help?  I am looking for any members of the TALBOT family of Clifton Hampden Oxfordshire on the 1851 Census - I am particularly interested in ages, address and occupation if at all possible...

Thanks!

Thanks very much for looking...

I am a bit confused!  I have looked on the FamilySearch Mormon site, and know that there was at least one Talbot family (James [son of Robert and Ruth] and Mary and their son Robert) in Clifton Hampden in 1851 becuse Robert's birth is on the parish register for 1849, and then another child is on the register 1851.

Do you have access to a later or earlier census - or any other suggestions as to where I could go from here?

Thanks again for all of your help D!

Hi, I'm a new member just joined to find out more about my ancestry in Burnham. I'm so excited by your info. Ruth Talbot was my great grandmother. I'd been wondering how she would have come to meet her husband William Gohm. The fact that she was in service at Britwells explains all, as William lived with his parents Boaz and Emily as agricultural labourers in Lynch Hill which is next to Britwells. Its possible that they were also employed by William Bayley. Thanks so much. Phain
