Title: Immigrants from England inn 1960's
Post by: spongebag on Saturday 02 February 08 02:26 GMT (UK)
I am trying to trace my Aunty:

Cissey Lavinia MacAllister (McAllister), nee Gregory, born c 1915.  She emigrated to NZ sometime in the 1960's.  She was divorced, but took at least two of her sons with her - John (known as Johnny Mac) and Roger - births c1945 and c1940 respectively.  I think they flew to Auckland.  But that is all I know.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

white pages telephone directory
http://www.whitepages.co.nz/ you may recognise middle initials

Otherwise there are sites like oldfriends
http://www.oldfriends.co.nz/ you need to register but can then look at profile and make contacts

Cemetery sites
http://fhr.kiwicelts.com/Cemeteries/NZ_Cem.html
There is a lavinia Betty aged 82 died 1995, if you search at Purewa http://www.purewa.co.nz/search.asp

Other than that, post on the many NZ mailing lists and newsboards, suggest you put surname in title and someone may know the name

Had a shufti on 'oldfreinds and there is a 59 year old John Mcallister  living in Auckland, not sure when he joined so unable to say how accurate the age is.

Let e know if you need further info
