Title: owen rowlands look up request

can anyone help me? im looking for an owen rowlands in the 1881 + 71 census. i have found him in 1891 married with a child.

he was born in 1867 in glamorgan

i could only find 1 male born in glamorgan on the 1881 census -but it was for a john rowlands.

any help or advice greatly appreciated !!

yup, he was born in st andrews -so that looks like the man !
can i ask a dumb question regarding the first search result from 1881 - none of the other members in the household seem to be related ? does this mean this is where he worked as a farm servant?

and Blimey !!! -Theophilus !! what a fab name, this would be my gt gt grandad !

cant wait to tell my dad - he's going to be thrilled !

Indeed, seems he was in service in 1881.

Owen Rowlands was my great gfather. his son Theophilus owen  married Louisa salisbury from Bampton devon. They had many children but my gfather was one - Theophilus Owen he married Hannah Guy from Penarth. They lived in Barry They had one son - yes Theophilus Owen who married Norma Raines from Derbyshire. I was their only son born in Barry Geoffrey Owen - my parents refused the name theophilus!! My eldest son is called Robert owen - Hope this helps

ah ha !!! - then we are related then! owen rowlands is my gt gt grandfather -he and louisa had 16 children, 1 of them (charles) was my grandad. i will come back and pick your brains later (feel free to do the same ) i must go to work grrr !! ;D
