Adamson family in Dublin early 1850's the father Joseph was a Portmanteau maker ( Trunk and case maker ) and later on all his sons worked at the same trade.What I am trying to find out is were did the Adamson family come from. Where they English or Scotish. The sons were born in Dublin City but cant find were the father came from. Have try all the uasual places in Dublin.

just going through the posts on this forum
i know we'll be talking outside of this forum on the Adamsons, but my mother as a kid was always told that the family came from Manchester.

Joseph Adamson Married Anne Murphy 11th Sept 1854 St John Dublin. Fathers were Joseph Adamson and William Murphy. Thats as far back as I got. Couldn't find a birth for Joseph so maybe the place to look is Manchester. I have a list of brothers and sisters for your John will send you a copy tomorrow.
