Post by: janmary on Sunday 27 January 08 18:08 GMT (UK)
Trying to find some information about Joseph Weaver lived in Enniskillen in 1875 had a brother Thomas in Winchester.
Was born in Ledbury Herefordshire father Richard mother Sarah.
I know he lived in Enniskillen as he is mentioned in the will as an executor of my great grandfathers estate in 1875.  My g. grandfather being Thomas Weaver.
I know there were several other brothers who lived in Oxford but were born in Ledbury.

Hello  janmary,

Your Weaver ancestors must have moved to Fermanagh after Griffith's Valuation (1848-64) took place in the county. The only counties where the name Weaver was listed were ... Antrim, Cavan, Down, Dublin, Mayo and Sligo

Joseph weaver came to Enniskillen as a member of the Ordnance Survey. He was later a musketry instructor for the Fermanagh Militia. He continued to work as drawing maps for estates agents etc. Born c1822 died at his residence, Darling St., Enniskillen 16 December 1900. His son Alfred had a stationery shop in darling St, Enniskillen and other children were Charles, May and Lizzie.
I am a local historian in Co. Fermanagh and Joseph Weaver's name is quite familiar to me. - Seamas Mac Annaidh
