Hi Chas,
I'm interested in anything "Gabb" from Stonehouse, late 1700s to early 1800s.
Thanks and regards,
Amanda

Amanda,
Sure, I can look for Gabbs but any marriage and baptism data on the film I'm to search should have been extracted so can be found in the IGI as extracted or perhaps submitted. If you search the IGI and let me know the date given for any particular person, it will ease the task. However, if you need verification of any submitted entry in the IGI, I could easily do that.
The one topic which will be on the film but not in the IGI, is burial info. and I'll be going through burial data for myself so will keep a look-out for Gabbs.

Sorry Chas,
I misunderstood, I assumed a film not already on IGI - I know that my lot from Stonehouse aren't on there.
I would be very interested in burial dates for William Gabb and Sarah Gabb nee Alder, both probably born between 1760 and 1780. Their son was John (my Great x3 grandfather) born somewhere around 1807 - not on IGI, was apparently a baptist)
Thanks and regards,
Amanda

Amanda,
Please send me a P.M. giving your e-mail address, I have some info. concerning the W'm Gabb X Sarah Alder marriage I can send as an attachment.

Amanda,
An Elizabeth Gabb aged 2 of Stonehouse was buried on 12th March 1815.
The registrations of W'm and Sarah's deaths are to be found on freebmd but I've found in my records that Sarah Gabb died on April 6th 1844 and was buried on the 10th. Her age is given as 73.
William's burial record is something else and with luck I can get a good look at it on Tuesday. But anyway, let me have that P.M. with your address.

Hi Chas ,
Does this include French Episcopal, Stonehouse, Gloucester?
If so I'd love to hear of anything to do with 'Allard' or similar spelling.
Many Thanks,
Val

Val,
If you already know about what follows, sorry: but somebody reading this might not and it might help them.
If you use the procedure at http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/FindingBatchNos.html you can find the LDS batch number of the data extracted from the records of the Episcopal church - or any other church for that matter.
If you then go to http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountryEngland.htm#PageTitle and choose any batch from anywhere in any county you will see that batch number near the bottom RH side of the Search Criteria page. Replace that batch number with the one you found (C049111 - do not forget the zero), enter "Allard" in the top box and Submit Query: you will be given the extracted entries for Allards.
The film I have hired is of C of E parish registers as shown in the LDS catalogue for film number 0856954.

Sorry it's taken so long to reply, my original was posted elsewhere but Arranroots moved it to where I seldom look.
However, I can still look up the Stonehouse records but with the info you give it would take over a month.
The National Burial Index - Edition 2 - give some Gabbs.
The film I can search for you covers the years 1650 to 1812.
If you know a reasonably accurate date and name I'll have a look at the burials in the Parish register but I cannot search the complete film for you.
If you have not searched the extracted batches of data from church records (burials not given) go to http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountryEngland.htm#PageTitle
If you have not been there before, you might find http://www.genuki.org.uk/contents/ useful.
If you wish to contact me, please do so by P.M.

Look Up Offer moved to Look Up Offer board - I then PMed you AND you should have received a notification unless you have turned them off?
