I am trying to find the death record of a Jane/Jean Nicol. She was born 1897 Aberdeen, and died sometime after 1918. She was the daughter of James B. Nicol. I do not have any additional information.Nicol was her birth name and if Jane married and changed her name then I will never find her!
Maybe someone can give me some advice where to look?
Thanks for any help.

What was her mothers maiden name? Where was she in 1918?

The only one that matches that description on the 1901 is:
59 Carlton Place, Rubislaw, Aberdeen
District 168/2 Ed 41 page 5
Jane Kelly, 64, living on own means, b. Strath?, Forfarshire
Jean Isobel Nicol, granddaughter, 4, b. Aberdeen
Anna Thomson, 30, servant, b. Aberdeen

Hi again Mollys
Was her father, James, an architect?

Jane/Jean Nicol's mother was Margaret Kelly Nicol 1871-1913. James B. Nicol was an architect. He was married 3 times. When he died in 1953 he was survived by his 3rd wife and 3 sons & 2 daughters. I do not know his other 2 wifes names -only know two of his kids: Jean and Andrew. Jane/Jean was born in Aberdeen in 1897. I did see the 1901 census when she was staying with her granny. IF this is the Jane/Jean I am looking for then she gave birth to Pearl Nicol on 26th Dec 1917 Aberdeen. She then gave baby up in Paisley 1918. Soooo I am hoping that she died as Jane/Jean Nicol in Paisley after 1918 and I find some information from death record to link her to my family.
I hope I explained this okay. Let me know and thanks to everyone reading this.

Hi Mollys :)
Yes, you explained it all fine :)
I did run a check on Jean Nicol last night as just J Nic*l female with mother's name Kelly (1918-2006) for all of Scotland but didnt get any matches. I'll try again and for a marriage but it's a very big search.

PS She was born 13 June 1896.
