Hi

Michael is too young to be Thomas's father plus marriage was 1894 and Thomas was born 1889/90.  Suspect he was Sarah's illegitimate son

In 1891 there is a 2 yr old Thomas Fitzgerald living with Edward & Mary Barton and shown as their nephew

Thanks for that Carol, how about Eldon court or Street there must have been a Sarah living there as per the census info ??.

Eldon St was the address for Michael & Sarah in 1901 - not 1891

Presumably Thomas went to live with Sarah after she married Michael O'Neill

There is a Sarah Fitzgerald b Liverpool aged 17 on the 1891 - only child living with parents Michael 34 b Ireland (occ tailor)  and Catherine 32 b North Shields.   Can't make out the address but think it was Marlborough St

Michael Fitzgerald & Catherine Maloney only married in the March quarter of 1881 - this is the 1881 entry but no Michael.  he may have had a previous marriage and Sarah was his child by that marriage - but where was she in 1881
