I am trying to find some details on a Thomas S Smyth. He was the son of Jane Wright and John Smyth. He has at least one sibling a John Wright Smyth who was born in Ballymena in 1836. I know Thomas was born in Ireland and presume it was around the Ballymena area. At some stage he migrated to the USA where he married a Nellie Shields in 1883. She was originally from Lancashire, England. Does anyone have any other information.

So he was 50 plus when he married. I had a look at castlegarden.com and with patience one might find him. My server is misbehaving tonight or the net is suffering from financial fallout. So I also gave up on familysearch.com. have you other facts you are not offering,yet. To have got before 1850 in ireland is very good but you quote source at your end. So good luck anyway, jim.

I do not have any other information. What I have got came off the IGI site and I have not been successful if finding anything else.

Bit of a longshot, but someone in Coleraine Family History society is researching the Wright name in Ballymena, may be worth trying to contact them:

There is a Thomas Smyth born 1826 in Ballyloughan, nr. Ahoghill on the LDS site. In Griffiths Valuation there are loads of Smyths and Wrights in Ahoghill Parish, and some of them in Ballyloughan. Might be worth a look. RosemaryJoan
