Hi :)
I am trying to find out more information on a Benjamin Scotland.
I know he had a son in 1944 Bruce Scotland born Newcastle up on Tyne.
According to his sons birth certificate Benjamin was married to a Mary Grey Anderson.
I have Benjamin's death certificate, he died in 1960 aged 60 he was a Riveter for British Railways.
I have search for Benjamin's birth and marriage record but have had no luck.
I would be grateful for any help in case I have missed something
Thanks Nessie

Hi Tazzie, thanks for your help. :)
I have seen that record for William, could it be possible that he dropped his full name??? could be why I'm struggling to find him.
I could see if there is a marriage for a William Scotland and Mary Grey Anderson.

Hello Nessie
If you have not found the marriage yet....
Have a look at 1926 OND quarter 10b 44
Also have a look at the following Births....
1927 JAS quarter 10b 272
1934 JFM quarter 10b 271
1936 JAS quarter 10b 292
In all cases just search for the surname Scotland (without entering a first name).
All the registrations are at Newcastle on Tyne
Please let us know how you get on.
If you have any problem finding them let me know and I will send the details by PM (so as not to identify possible living individuals)

William B Scotland is on the 1901 Census
20 Little Blagdon (or Blagham) Street, Newcastle All Saints
Thomas Scotland, 32, General Labourer, Newcastle
Sarah Ann, 27, ditto
David, son, 5
William B, son 3,
John, son, 2mo
At no 4 there are more Scotlands
Ann, head, 31,
Benjamin, brother, 26, Bricklayer
David, brother, 15, Bricklayer's labourer
All born Newcastle
Could all be part of the same family and would add credance to the B standing for Benjamin.
