The Parish Church of Ystradyfodwg, St John the Baptist can be found in Ton Pentre at the junction of Church Rd and Bailey Street. It was completely rebuilt on the old site approx 30 yrs ago.

There is a pic here of the old church, does not do it justice...have got a better one on comp but cannot find a link to it on net.

Many of my folk were married there, There are records available From GFHS for the Ystradyfodwg Parish Church. I have only the marriages.

William Roberts died 1883 Pontypridd. My source is a book written by Robert Griffith.
On the 1881 census he is living in Ystradyfodwg. Is that close to Pontypridd?
I can find nothing at BMD or any other site regarding his death.
I don't know where to search next. Any advice would be appreciated!
This is my gr gr grandfather
thanks Teddy USA

Pontypridd was the registration district for the parish of Ystradyfodwg at that time

http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/genuki/reg/districts/pontypridd.html

but I can't see a death reg in 1883 apart from one for an infant. There's one in 1882

William Roberts 55 sept qtr 1882 Pontypridd vol 11a pg 197

Hello all,
I realize this is a very old thread however I had some questions about my LLEWELYN HOWELL and bride being married 13 May 1746 in Ystradyfodwg.

Her name is not included but Glamorgan Family History Society web doc claims it was both their parish. Any advise on where to continue my search?
If I have the correct Llewelyn then, both moved to Pennsylvania a few years later. I would very much like to discover her maiden name.

her maiden name would appear to be Howell also

It has also been transcribed on FreeReg

By the way, it's probably a good idea to start a new query rather than add yours onto an old one in the Completed Lookups. It could get overlooked.
