Title: People's opinions wanted please
Post by: Istari on Monday 14 January 08 18:53 GMT (UK)
Hi all,

Today I was in my local library checking/confirming details about my people when I came across something interesting (for me anyhow).

I can't put a link up so I'll give as much info as I can to help you finf where I was.

I was looking for George Taylor  (my GGfather, born about 1844) in the 1891 census, he was born in tilmanstone, kent.

When I saw the original image for him, it showed an odd word in the "where born" column by the word "tilmanstone".

Would anyone care to hazard a guess or an opinion on what it says, I know what I think it says, but i'd like some other opinions please.

Thank you all in advance.

Istari

Does this help anyone? Usually that column is for whether blind, deaf etc, but as the person above has Isle of Sheppey continued through that column, thought it might just be stating a place near Tilmanstone, maybe Eythorne?

I agree with Barbara the word in brackets does look like it could be Eythorne with top half of the t faded and without e on the end unless it's faded :-\
