Is there anyone out there looking for the Fulton's.They are on the 1841 census living at Finney lane Liverpool.I have just discovered this new branch on my tree. There are several of them living at this address and Jean age 65 would be my gr.gr.gr. or even gr grandma. How fabulous is that.I know its such a long time ago but would anyone know where Finney lane would have been Located. It makes me feel so proud to have such long time connections to Liverpool.
Thanks in advance, Kidsnana

Hi
This wording is taken from part of the 1871 enumerators walk covering Finney Lane and may give you an idea of the locality
The south side of Thomas St to the starting point of Paradise St including the abodes of Finney Lane, King St Lane, Atherton St etc etc.
The report ends with and South John St to Canning Place
Looking at it on the census it seems to fall between King St and Atherton St

Thanks Carole,
Now to hopefully find what happened to them all.

Hi
Jean (Jane's) husband was John
This is from the IGI at www.familysearch.org as Martha is on the 1841
MARTHA FULTON Christening: 27 MAY 1822 Saint Peter, Liverpool Father: JOHN FULTON Mother: JANE
There is also a Mary (1816) (shown as Falton) Catherine (1819) and Elizabeth Sarah (1824)
The 1841 has a Thomas & Mary Stevenson living with Jean plus Jean & Thomas Miller
Lancashire Marriage indexes for the years: 1841
FULTON Mary STEVENSON Thomas Liverpool, Our Lady & St. Nicholas & St. Anne Liverpool 2053LP/6/142
Lancashire Marriage indexes for the years: 1838

From the IGI
MARY FULTON Spouse: THOMAS STEVENSON
Marriage: 18 JAN 1841 Saint Nicholas, Liverpool
I don't know whether Ann is connected - you would need to check the entry at the LRO and see if her father was John
ANN FULTON Spouse: MICHAEL CAIN
Marriage: 09 DEC 1839 Saint Nicholas Liverpool
JANE FULTON Spouse: THOMAS MILLER
Marriage: 04 FEB 1839 Saint Nicholas Liverpool
ELIZABETH SARAH FULTON Spouse: JOHN JONES
Marriage: 19 FEB 1844 Saint Nicholas Liverpool
The 1841 has a 6 month old Ann Atkins - this is only a possibility but it was 10 years later. The 1841 has Helen Fulton with Jean
ELLEN FULTON Spouse: JOHN ATKINSON
Marriage: 27 APR 1851 Saint Nicholas
There are a number of male Fulton marriages on the IGI but I can't say whether they could be sons of John & Jean - you would need to check the entries out at the LRO to determine their fathers name

There is a possibility that the Hannah Langley on the 1841 re-married to Thomas Green
Do you have Ancestry access? If so - have a look at the Cheshire 1851 for Thomas Green b 1815 Bebington - Langley stepchildren

Hi Carole,I dont know how to THANK YOU for so much information. It will take me days to get my head around it.I am on Ancestry, not that great at it yet though but i will be sure to look at it.The Bebington 1851 that is.My friend Tisgrannie will be thrilled when she see's all this, she does all the work for me,or maybe she wont be so thrilled.LOL
I cant believe my family have been in Liverpool for such a long time,i am so proud of that.
Anyway thanks again for your time in finding all of this for me.

Hello Kidsnana, I know this is a good few years late but I am a descendent of John and Jane Fulton. Their Eldest Daughter Hannah (1811-1883) married in 1829 to William Langley (1811-1842). She then Married in 1843 Thomas Green (1815-1887). It is through the green line I come down from through their son Robert (1846-1917) his daughter Mary Elizabeth (1880-1951) her son Thomas Wynne Crawford was my Grandfather.
I have very little information regarding John Fulton or when he married Jane (I believe her maiden name may have been Molyneux). In 1841 as you know they are living in Finney street yes most of the daughters were married from Thomas Street. I have found a burial record for a John Fulton at Liverpool St Martin-in-the-Fields, 30 Nov 1836, aged 78 also Thomas Street, but not sure if this is him or not.
The Marriage of Ann Fulton to Michael Cain mentioned in a previous message is no relation as she is a widow and the the daughter of an Adam Price. I have an online public tree available if you would like to view it. Hope you get this message. Kind Regards, Liam Crawford.

Hi Liam,
I can't believe it,what a fabulous Easter gift for me,i thought i was never going to find anyone from that branch of the family,i am from Jane who married Thomas Miller.I dont have my papers in front of me,but i think their daughter Hannah married Robert Jones and their daughter Jane was my granma, her daughter Florence was my mom.I was born in Liverpool and now live in Florida,i came to the states in 1960 N.Y. and moved to Florida 10 years ago.My whole family are still in Liverpool, there must be hundreds of them.I am just so thrilled to hear from you,i hope i am not rambling.Do you live in Liverpool,i will be coming this summer,i would love to meet you.
Warmest Regards Joyce.

Hello Joyce,
Wow I was not expecting a quick response as this. Thank you. Thank you also for telling me your direct line back to Jane Miller nee Fulton. I have Hannah and Robert Jones on my tree up to the 1871 Census but then in 1881 there is a similar with a Daughter called Jane b.1877 or abouts. But there is a Thomas Finch in the household as being the Father in Law? Is this the same family as ours? If so where does Thomas Finch fit in.
I live in Ellesmere Port over the water from Liverpool. And yes I would like to catch up in the summer when you come over. Are you on Ancestry? If so I can grant you full access to my tree?
My family are celebrating tonight my parents Golden Wedding. Busy night. Kindest Regards and all the best for Easter.
Liam

Hi again,
I am on Ancestry,i dont have a tree,i am not that good on my p.c.it would take me forever,i am a two finger typist, but i would love to see yours.I am on face book, joyce rigos, my picture is a little white dog and its Parrish Florida.Have a wonderful time at the party, tell them CONGATULATIONS and i am looking forward to meeting them in the summer. You have the right Jane,i dont know who the Finch is,maybe an error and it was supposed to be Fulton.Jane married John Mcdonald and had gangs of kids,11 i think.Joseph her brother(i think) was killed in the blitz, direct hit,he is on the Liverpool civilian war dead site,so many dead,so sad.You will see a Florence Jones and a William Jones, both illegitimate,Tut Tut,my mom was Florence.
hugs Joyce
