Hi Tati
Thanks for the census details - could Susans' birth place possibly be Barcombe?
Regards
Kay

Yes, could well be :) :) (It's not Susan but Sarah though)
-
Just checked 1861 - Barcombe indeed. She's 69 now and still Sarah (I saw a possible marriage, 1845 I believe, for a Henry Verrall to possibly Sarah Ann Chapman)

Kay,
Have you seen this site:
http://www.bandhpast.co.uk/
Take your time to explore it - you can find a map which shows where Henry was living, how much it's value was and lots of social and local histroy for Barcombe and Hamsey.

Hello. I stumbled across this. I live at Boundary Hall in the Parish of Hamsey in Sussex, where Henry and Sarah Verrall lived, along with Henry's mother, Lucy, from 1851-1891.
They are buried at St Peter's Church in Hamsey (not the Victorian one in Offham).

Hello there very interesting to hear you live at Boundary Hall - is it as 'posh' as it sounds!!? I intend to visit the area at sometime.
Thank you for your message

It's not posh at all, Katy! If you're in the area, do drop in for a look around. Ian
