anyone got these names on their tree ?
-
If you could give a bit more detail like names, dates or places someone might be able to help by giving information or suggest sources to check.
-
hi like i wrote ive now got all (i think of the coyle family in parish register)..my great grandmother catherine coyle was married in scotland to john o connnor...her father was james coyle and mother eliza goulding sometimes spelt golden or gouldin..
-
Afraid you haven't given us all the details you have yet.
Parish register? what parish, name of church, names and dates?
Catherine Coyle married in Scotland? when did the marriage take place? what information is on her death certificate?
A quick search of IGI finds at least 6 children (could be others- see what you mean about Eliza's surname):
James Coyle & Eliza:
1. John born 29 Mar.1865 Aughnacloy dist., Tyrone (mother- Goolden)
2. James born 31 Mar.1867 Co.Tyrone (mother- Goolding)
3. Margaret born 8 JUne 1869 Ireland (mother- Gouldan)
4. Patrick born 19 Sept.1872 Ireland (mother- Golden)
5. Minnie born 6 Feb.1877 Ireland (mother- Gouldin)
6. Sarah Ann born 22 Jan.1879 Belfast, Antrim (mother- Goulding)
LDS site is free and one of the first places you should look for information. If you've already found above details it helps if you mention that in your post so people don't look for information you already have.
If you are trying to find other living relatives (hopefully also interested in family history) you could try posting on some of the surname boards like Genforum, Rootsweb. etc. if you haven't done so already.

marriage to john o connor 1891 in glasgow also have them on scottish census, catherine visiting priors from ireland...
-
You can search for Catherine on IGI at www.familysearch.org - but not all Irish births are there and covers 1864-c1880.
You still haven't said when Catherine Coyle married in Scotland or what information is on her death certificate (does her age at death fit with Catherine in 1866?). Did you have the 6 Coyle children I listed in previous post?
There are also 5 children in IGI for John Coyle and Jane (same variations in spelling of surname).
-
Our postings seem to have crossed.
Did Catherine die in Scotland or Ireland? (Scottish certificates give much more detail than Irish ones). What age was she when she got married in 1891?
Aughnacloy is in Carnteel Parish but LDS catalogue doesn't show that they've microfilmed any church records unfortunately.

sorry my last posting didnt seem to register..in case it dosent come up...catherine/john married in scottland she was 20... they moved to belfast she was from tyrone.. died 48 in belfast in 1913..

You do have lots of information but maybe don't realise what you have, what's missing and how (if possible) to find missing bits.
If Catherine was born c1871 (going by marriage certificate) not likely to be Catherine born in 1866. However two Coyle/Golden families are quite possibly related to keep note of anything you find just in case later searching makes the connection.
If Catherine had died in Scotland there would be more information on death certificate. As she died in Ireland all a death certificate will say is: name, date place and cause of death, age at death (as given by informant), occupation, marital status, name of person registering the death. It will not say names of parents/spouse or birthdate/place.
From IGI children (all I could find) for John Coyle and Jane:
1. Sarah born 10 Dec.1864 Aughnacloy dist., Tyrone (mother- Goolden)
2. Catherine born 16 Feb.1866 Augnacloy dist, Tyrone (mother- Goolden)
3. Jame Charles born 26 July 1869 Ireland (mother- Gouldan) [prob. James]
4. Elizabeth born 12 Sept.1871 Co.Tyrone (mother- Goulden)
5. Ellen born 22 Feb.1874 Co.Tyrone (mother- Golden)

hi ive got catherine born 1863 aghaloo. father jacobum (james}coyle .mother eliza gouldin[handwriting for gouldin a bit faded] also jacobum coyle eliza gouldin married same parish 1860
-
Welcome to Rootschat sloppyjoe. Are the details you posted from church records (can't think any other reason for Latin)?
-
yes i was at proni last week im with cowin . the writing is somtimes sketchy but loads og gouldins goldens gouldings hard to distinguish but first names and sponsers and years seem to match
-
If that's the right Catherine Coyle (and the parents' names look good) either she lied about her age when she got married (was husband born after 1863 by any chance?) or the one baptised 1863 died and parents used the name again for a later daugther. Civil registration of births didn't start until 1864 so you won't be able to get a birth certificate for the child baptised in 1863.

thanks aghadowy all census forms seem to tally give or take a year. only fly in ointment is scottish marriage cert.every thing fits bar her age.we know they wer'nt married in ireland and cant find any english records but their parents fit on the cert maybe she was a vain woman?
-
Wouldn't be the first time someone lied about their age on an official document but looks like she took 9 years off her age when she was getting married.
-
yea would have to be some looker to do that.looks like as you say probally another catherine born later.
-
thanks for all your help... been stuck on this for ages
