Hi
Please can anyone look up 1901, 1891, 1871 and 1861 census returns for Thomas and Elizabeth Sandercock and their family who in 1881 were living in Bideford.
Many thanks,
Angela. :) :)

You didn't ask for 1851 but don't know if you have his parents
1851
Cottage Abbotsham Devon
William Saundercock Head 48 b Welcombe Devon
Anne wife 51 b Alwington Devon
Richard son 20 Blacksmith Journeyman b Abbotsham

HO107/1895 Folio 317 Page 7
A couple of entries down we have
Willian Saunderson 22 b Abbotsham in the household of George Squance Cordwainer. William is an apprentice cordwainer.
This fits in with the 1851 where Thomas is living with William - but I don't know the relationship between Thomas and William - may be brother but can't confirm it or may be a cousin

Going back to the children of Thomas and Elizabeth the first Clara died and her death reference confirms the marriage details

Hi Tricia,
Thanks VERY much for all the info you have found for me - it's all very useful. Very kind of you.
Just wondering if any info available for the wife Elizabeth Ellis before she married in 1862 i.e. 1861 and 1851 census.
Or shall I put up another look-up for her.
Thanks again,
cheers,
from
Angela. :) :) :) :)

Hello,
Was the family above from 1861 just a red herring?
William Sandercock Head 30 Boot and shoe maker employing 1 man & 1 boy b Abbotsham
Elizabeth G Sandercock wife 29 Shoemaker's wife b Moretonhampstead Devon
Emma M Windeatt wife's dau 6 b Moretonhampstead
etc
Just that I know a little about Elizabeth Grace Windeatt who married William SANDERCOCK - although not much admittedly. Let me know if you are interested.

Hi
Just came across this topic by chance.
My family line originates in next door Appledore and was wondering if you have:
Frederick Ellis Bennett 1875 - 1895 Appledore
Wondedring if there is connection in any way to you and if so how.
The Ellis middle name, I have yet to find a connection to our line.
His parents were Joshua Boon Bennett and Harriet Bennett nee Lamey from Appledore, N.Devon

I am not aware of anyone of that name being related, my father cant remember anything of his family now and his memory is shot.
However I belive it was very common for children to be given a middle name from the mothers maiden name, which was the case with my Grandfather.
Sorry I cant be of any help!

### hi. Frederick Ellis Bennett was the brother of my great grandfather. Joseph/Joshua Bennett. I have not come across 'Ellis' anywhere else so far.
If you have any info you would be happy to share, feel free to email me.

I am not sure about the link, it may be possible, my grandfathers middle name was Ellis, name after his mothers maiden name.
I am hoping to do some more research soon but have been very busy looking after ageing parents!
Such fun.

Hi Banana 12
I have sent my e-mail and details to you.
Joseph Boon Bennett (Master Mariner), father of Frederick E and your G Grandfather was a younger brother of my GG Grandfather John Bennett (Master Mariner), who left Appledore in 1864 with his family further up the coast.
Look forward to hearing from you and sharing 15 years of research etc.
