Title: Conwal Cemetary Donegal - Completed
Post by: forthefamily on Sunday 06 January 08 19:27 GMT (UK)
Is anyone familiar with a Conwal Cemetery that is not far from Letterkenny? I googled to get info about it but there isn't much.

Is it still open? Is it still called Conwal?  and is there some way to contact them ?

Hi Forthefamily,
Conwal cemetry is still in use. As I dont live that far away from it I can check it out for you if you like.

Really  :D Apparently some of my family are buried there. I only just found this out recently. The family name is Toner. My GGF was a Peter Toner of Kirkstown.  I don't know my GGM's name. I know that at least one of his children was buried there - James Toner in 1907.  He was 48 when he passed away. What I would really like to know is my GGM's name but she would have been buried some time ago and maybe the grave isn't in good nick anymore.

Hey...if you feel like having a stroll one day around Conwal Cemetery please see if you see any Toners.  I would greatly appreciate it  :)

Do you know if anyone has taken the time to transcribe any of the memorials...like a local historical group?

hopefully I get walk round on Sunday (weather permitting) and have a look for you. As far as I know there is nothing transcribed from Conwall or Leck graveyard.

Thank you very much. That is so nice of you  :)

One of these days I'd like to visit Ireland and see all the places where my family lived. I flew over it once going to England. I was amazed at how many shades of green it was  :) Just beautiful. Loverly.
