I have a great deal of information on The Nunn family of Essex, who were employed mainly as Blacksmiths between the late 1700s until the late 1800s.
I am keen to liase with anyone with similar interests,my family married into the following families:- Ackhurst,Playle,Walliker,Millum (also read as Millham) Haughton,Wyborn,Ward,Barrett,Jackson.
The areas of Steeple,Tillingham,Bradwell on Sea, and Dengie seem to be the most frequently occuring areas of main interest.

I am trying to find my grandfather.
My father always told me he came from the Brightlinsea area of Essex,Steeple,Tillingham,Bradwell on Sea are in that general area. I was told he was named Jack but also that he was a seaman (all sailors were called Jack) I know that my grandmothers name was Nellie, I have found a record of her death, I was also told that my grandfather died in Belvedere Kent, somewhere around 1910 when my father was about five years old.
The legend also claims that he was hit on the head by a crane whilst building the Tower bridge, and this eventually killed him but not before he had gone back to sea and been around the world a couple of times.
