Title: Liverpool Central Electoral Roll 1949

My grandfather who was a widower died at an address in Liverpool Central in 1949. The occupant was no relation, but I would like to confirm her name. How do I go about this please?

Do you live in Liverpool, you can try the polling records, this gives the head of household at least also a lot of trade directories are
in Street Order as well as under Occupations

Apologies for the late reply.

Actually, the mystery deepens. I've had an e-mail from Central Library in Liverpool which states that there was a Janet Passe living there in 1949, but I have no idea who she was. I can't see a re-marriage for my grandfather, but of course, it may never have happened! So, I'll have to try to trace her, but whether she was my grandfather's wife or not, I have no idea.
