Hi.
I'm interested in hearing from anyone who’s has information or is descended from Henry Augustus Stanley Spurrier and Marguerite Amy Marie Spurrier nee Moussary, they migrated to Australia sometime between 1909 and 1914.
Henry and Marguerite were married in 1903 St Pancras London England. They had the following children:-
Leon Augustus W born 1906 St Pancras.
Lilian Augusta born 1908 Holborn.
Margaret Ellen E born 1908 Holborn.
Francis Henry born 1909 Holborn.
Henry and Marguerite are listed in the Australian Electoral Rolls, 1901-1936.
1914 – 32 Iffla Street, Emerald Hill, Melbourne Ports Victoria.
1919 – Christmas & Fullham Roads, Alphington, Bourke, Victoria.
1924, 1931 – 12 Park Ave, Alphington, Batman, Victoria.
In 1936 only Marguerite is listed living at 12 park Ave, so presumably Henry died sometime between 1931 and 1936.
Their son Leon Augustus Walter Spurrier is listed as:-
1931 – Western Camp, Yallourn, Gippsland, Victoria.
1936 – Leon and Joyce Spurrier 63 Parkside, Yellourn, Gippsland, Victoria.
Happy New Year.
Kind Regards Dryden.

"district of FRAN" I would take to mean Frankston, so I looked up the cemetery listing online (I think it is headstones only)
Only one Spurrier - There is the death of a Rose SPURRIER, 24/6/89, aged 85, wife of Frank - this could be the wife of Francis.
Maurice SPURRIER married Alva May SPICER in Vic 1937
no: 7989
They were cremated at Fawkner cemetery - Henry and Marguerite are buried there.

This birth certificate will give the names and ages of all previously born children - living and dead. When and where the couple married. It will also give the ages and birthplaces of Henry and Marguerite, plus Henry's occupation.

Hi.
A big thank you to Dee, ChristineR and Cando. You have given me several avenues of research thank you.
Henry Spurrier is my grandfather’s brother. Their parents were Walter George Spurrier and Clara Spurrier nee Cook.
Henry’s wife Marguerite Amy M. Moussary parents were Leon Moussary and Isabelle. Leon was a French Confectioner by trade and he was born in 1849 France.
Kind Regards Dryden.

Walter is my 3rd great uncle, are you still looking for info?
-
Hi. Walter George Spurrier 1850 - 1907 is my great grandfather. He married Clara Cook in 1874.
I would love to know how you are related to him?
-
Oh wow! Walter George Spurrier 1851- is my 3rd great uncle, I stem from William Spurrier 1841-1906 Walter George Spurrier's brother.
-
I have William Henry Spurrier who married Susan Comer 1863 High Bray Devon. William is my 2nd great uncle
-
Yup that's the one! Are there still Spurrier's in Devon?
-
There is still some living in Devon but I have not seen any living in Parracombe or High Bray.
-
How interesting, my dad moved to Devon a few years ago ( its his side of the family that were Spurrier's ) his mother's ( my grandmother) maiden name was spurrier before she married a Smith.
-
My mother’s madden name was Spurrier. Is your grandmother name Lilian Emily Spurrier?
-
Yes she was my grandmother, she passed away at a grand old age of 102 quite a few years ago. So what would that make us in relation?
-
Possibly third cousins.
-
Ahh interesting! I've not really been to Devon properly, but I was invited to look around the house where William Spurrier 1775-1831( my 4th great grandfather) lived at the end of his life.
