Hi all, does anyone have any information on an Alice Letitia Reialy, born 1845 in Dublin? Her parents were Edward Reialy and Jane Dunavan.
-
Are you sure of the spelling of the surnames? Could they be Reilly and Donavan for example?
If Alice was born 1845 in Dublin there will be no birth certificate (civil registration of births started 1864). To check church records for baptisms, etc. you need to know the family's religion and where they lived (not just Dublin which could mean Co. Dublin or Dublin City).

Thank you for your input, all the information I have is as stated.
-
What's the source for the information?
Alice Letitia Reialy, born 1845 in Dublin? Her parents were Edward Reialy and Jane Dunavan.
Am wondering if spelling of Reialy should be something like Reilly and the person writing it down wrote it incorrectly.

Thanks, Th information I have been given is Edward Reialy born in Ireland married Jane Dunavan, born in Ireland. They had a daughter, Alice Letitia Reialy born 1845 in Dublin, Ireland. As far as I know the names are correct with spelling.
Alice Letitia left from Liverpool on 23 December 1861 on the "Star of India" for Australia.

Hi
Is this the same person on this website:
http://www.geocities.com/mepnab/m/mc2.html?200731 Broken Link
Which says her husband was Robert McNAIR 1844 - 1888 - who married wed 1865 to Letitia Riley -also called Alice Laticia Reialy when she wed, also called Letitia Ann Riley. The family lived in Ballarat. One of their children had Reily as a middle name. Others had Edward and Jane as middle names.

Hi Aussie2307
Sorry, I'm no relation at all - I just found the website via Google search
That website has a "link" to email the owner (at the bottom of the page) - so try contacting her via that.
You might want to "modify" your last message above to take out your email address - this will prevent spammers getting hold of it and bombarding your email address!
Best wishes and Good luck in making contact ;D
The bit about Letitia appearing to remarry sounds interesting! A second marriage may help determine the surnames.

We'll have you hooked on this internet business in no time! ;D
It seems she may have used the name Letitia overall....?
You say she left Liverpool 23 Dec 1861......
Is this her arrival?
http://proarchives.imagineering.com.au/index_search.asp?searchid=23
RILY, LETITIA age 20, Mar 1862 on Star of India
Port B, Fische 201, page 003
On the same ship, month and reference is:
RILY, ANN age 22
Possibly a sister....?
Also on same ship, month and ref was:
REILLY JEMIMA age 19
I wonder if your ALice Letitia embarked on ship in Liverpool, or perhaps in Ireland before the ship went on to Liverpool to pick up more passengers? If she did embark in Liverpool though, perhaps she may be found in the 1861 Census for England......
Cheers

Thank you for that information Ambly as I was fairly certain that the name was Reilly (or some variation).
