hello you nice people
Can someone please see if they can find
Thomas and Ann Maria Smith
The known children are Thomas, Mary and Napoleon (yes, Napoleon)
They Were in Boughton under Blean in 1841 and Thomas Junior ended up in Preston near Faversham in 1871
Both Thomas snr and Ann maria were alive in 1860 when Thomas Junior was married
Thomas Snr was born in Boughton under Blean in 1811
Many thanks

Hi
As you know, there were loads of SMITHs about - this is the nearest I could come up with any Ann Maria but I'm really not sure about it ...............
1861
Gatefield? Lane, Faversham
Ann M SMITH head wid 47 (no birthplace given)
Ann M dau 19 housemaid b.Faversham
Richard H son 15 butcher's boy b.Faversham

There was a Thomas SMITH with wife Ann with a family in Hernhill (both born Hernehill and children born Hernehill & Dunkirk)

hi casalguidi
Many thanks for your enquiries
Yes it is young Thomas on the 1861. I am surprised at the sister, the age is about right but she was christened Mary Hobday Smith in 1837 (I have seen the parish record) I will investigate further.
I'm fairly certain that its not Ann-Maria but I can't prove it isn't. Again more investigation required.
I was fooled some time ago by the HernHill Thomas but he definetly isn't one of mine
Again many thanks for the small chinks of light at the end of a very long tunnel
