Title: beattie family bible
Post by: rima on Sunday 02 January 05 22:31 GMT (UK)
My Beattie family bible does not in fact show any Beattie
names as it goes way back to 1791 listing 'Little' and 'Jardine' as early family....possibly Irish.Need to find a connection to Beattie and then Beattie in Dumfriesshire

Hiya Rima,

I know there are plenty of people interested in Beatties, Littles and Jardines in Dumfriesshire I have the first 2 myself in my tree.

Would you be able to let us know what yuour bible has in the way of detail and maybe we could help on the Dumfries board?

Rima,

Unfortunately I don't yet have a connection for you to Beattie, but I'd love more info on the Jardine portion of the bible. I am a descendant of Robert Jardine from Annan with that birth date. You infact have the only connection that I can find in 10 + years of research.  And I've done quite a bit of research! My Robert made his way to Canada apparently in 1831.  That is where my information starts. To my knowledge he came alone and married there. Once in Canada he was a farmer, a joiner and later an inn keeper in the Restigouche, Campbellton, NB.

Have you been able to find any additional information on how the Beattie's connect with the Jardine's, or any info at one on this Jardine family? I'd love to find out more.
