Can anyone help tracing Christopher William Jameson (born) 1862 and father William (born 1840). They are a Hull family of Bakers/confectioners. They are on the 1891 census and referred to on the marriage certificate in Leeds 1913 of son Arthur Augustus. They seem to disappear between although I cannot see them moving from Yorkshire. Any help gratefully received.

Many thanks. I have been looking for weeks without success. Never thought of looking for a slightly different spelling of the surname. Really appreciate your efforts and can now concentrate on Christopher William Jameson. It is interesting that in Kellys of 1892 William had a double fronted confectionery shop in Hull employing about 6 men. How life could change so quickly.

Hi John,
Glad it's the right one. I suppose a lot can change in 9 years, maybe he still owned the shop in Hull.
I find it helps to search under first names & birthplaces, or in this case Jam*son, as there are lots of mistranscriptions or mis-indexing. Trouble is I didn't find Christopher ... do you know for sure that he was still alive in 1901? Yes, just realised you said he was referred to in 1913. Will have another look
Kind regards,
Barbara

My word, I thought I was the only one up at this time of night. My reference to 1913 is his son Arthur Augustus marriage certificate which does not state deceased. I suppose the cert could be mistaken.

Sorry forgot to mention that I could not find son Arthur Augustus Mehew Jameson or wife Mary Jane Jameson in 1901.

Hi John,
If you go to Rootschat homepage and scroll to the bottom, you'll see how many people are online, must admit a lot of them are those who sleep during our day (Australia USA etc!)
:)
Sorry can find no sign of Christopher or Arthur, odd, have tried a couple of websites :-\
Now I'm off to bed!

Hi,
Just joined and can help here. This is infact my direct family tree and I can happily send you a "cut" from it which should fill in some blanks. I know the enquiry is old but if you are interested just let me know
-
Hi Jameson,
Welcome to Rootschat :)
I'm sure John will be delighted to find a family member, maybe he will have information to share with you too, best wishes to you both
Kind regards
Barbara

Hi, perhaps you can help, I have extracted the family tree including Christopher and descendants I know of (including me) I would like to send the Gedcom file (or post it) but don't know the best way??
- also what I have already uncovered about his ancestors. I am however horribly stuck with Thomas Jameson b1817 (married Eleanor Wise - from York) and died before the 1851 census - I believe in 1847. I have a number of target families, including William and Mary who he was living with when first married (also his first born is William) I am very tempted to asume this is his father and mother but need some further confirmation.

Hi,
Send the gedgom where? If you want to send it to someone by email you can just attach it there.
If you'd like to post the information found about Christopher relating to the query on this thread, please do, as it will then finish this topic.
It might be better if you start a new topic of your own about Thomas b.1817
then it won't get mixed up with this one, or at least, the rootschatters searching won't :)
Kind regards,
Barbara

Happy to post the gedcom here but how? may need some further discussion because I have Arthur Augustus as died - long time since this was established so I would have to go through my old "stuff"
-
I don't think you can post a full gedcom here, but if you ask the question on the 'technical help' board someone will be able to tell you.
Have you been in touch with John? I see you have removed your email address, which is what I was going to suggest, best just to use those in personal messages. If you have contacted him, you can send him your gedcom by email.
If you could just post the relevant 1901 census information here about Christopher, not the whole family details, and then start a separate new query about the rest of the family that you need help with.
Kind regards,
Barbara :)

Ok, easiest is to wait for John to come back on. I Will post my inquiries separately - also looking for anything Nordass as all Nordasses are directly related and I have some connections to make I can't currently be sure of. One group around around Beeford, Atwick area, another further South! - still will post these separately when I can get my head around the right questions to ask!
thanks for all the help
John
if you send your e-mail address on a private message I will send you the gedcom
