Title: 1851/1861 lookup - ISRAEL of Whitechapel

Hi All

Desperate to find ANY of these in either 1851 or 1861 in Whitechapel - probably around the Wentworth St/New Court/Bull Court area.

Israel ISRAEL b circa 1796 (not born in London)(died by 1871)
wife Leah ISRAEL b 1804 Hants, Portsmouth (alive in 1871)
Sarah b 1840 (not found in 1871)
Leah b 1841 (not found in 1871 but said in 1881 to be an imbecile)
Esther b 1848 (alive in 1871)
Joseph b 1845 (alive in 1871)

Also children of Israel ISRAEL by his first marriage:
Andrew b 1814 (I have him in 1851 at 1 Montague St, Whitechapel)
Solomon b 1816 (not found in 1871 but in Wentworth St in 1881)
Elkin b 1822

If anyone can help they are brilliant

Couldn't find Elkin although lots of Israels in Whitechapel as you might expect.

Someone will look up the actual census for you.  If they don't within a few days then ask again quoting the references.

Thank you VERY much Sylviaann - this one is the major one that I'm looking for, Israel is my 3x gt grandfather and I'm dying to know where he was born -

so I'd be really grateful for a lookup on the census of these 2 from SKS.  I've already got Andrew and Sarah and the other Israel age 70 isn't one of mine I don't think.

Still hoping for a 1861 lookup as well if poss!!  I realise it's not easy as I know there are a lot of Israels in the area but I just can't afford to buy all these censuses at the moment. Maybe later this year :-\

It is best to post separate years on different posts.  People have different resources.  I believe the 1861 needs addresses.

Hilary, in 1851 census, Israel Israel  shows born in Aldgate. Solomon Israel shows born in Whitechaple. both London I`m afraid. Ken B.
